Recreational Facilities abound in this area:

Golf
For golfing enthusiasts you could play on a different course every day for a fortnight! The nearest 18 hole course is at Muir of Ord and just a couple of miles further up the glen from us is Aigas, a nine hole course in a beautiful setting.  Over fifteen courses lie within a radius of 45 minutes drive, including championship courses such as Dornoch and Nairn.

Fishing
Just above the River Beauly, many of our guests find this the perfect base for fishing and you will find it hard to beat the magnificence of the scenery in this area whether fishing in the rivers or hill lochs.

Walking in the Highlands
Munro Specialist Website
Cycling - hiring bikes
the National Cycle Network

Canoeing fun for all the family with BootsnPaddles
Orienteering
We love it all, been there, seen it, done it! For more years than we care to admit to so can share our local knowledge with you.   Enjoy beautiful low-level walks of easy to medium standard straight from the lodges and there are enough Munros in the area to last a few weeks.  We have done them all - completed in October 2007!!  Cycling is a real joy here depending on how fit you are of course - special awards for guests who cycle all the way up to our front door. In the winter, the Cairngorms and Nevis Range are an hours drive away for a day's skiing.

There are several Pony Trekking centres in the area, one popular one by Loch Ness is Borlum Farm. If you fancy riding on a Highland Pony in the Cairngorms - look at their website.  Fun for all the family is the Black Isle Wildlife and Country Park, Bogbain Heritage and Adventure Farm where you can also participate in clay pidgeon shooting and quad biking for old and young; Inverness Leisure Centre with its Flumes and outdoor pool.

Distilleries  Here you will find information about the whisky trails and visit our local distillery in Muir of Ord - Glen Ord Distillery.

The city of Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands, with excellent communications by road, rail and air, has plenty to offer for your enjoyment, including a magnificent refurbished theatre and Cinema, Eden Court, the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery and Inverness Castle and many traditional music venues. You will find lots of information on the Inverness website above.
